Holidays around the World
Written by: Maddison Kurniawan

The holidays of June and December are one of the few best highlights of the year, certainly. Not only are the majority of schools across the globe given the time to relax for a week or two, but there are countless marvelous and exceptionally different events.

One month, you are under the protection of the invigorating sun, craving for a refreshing breeze and a drizzle of water. In another month, you are desperate for affable warmth and look forward to passing by a simple coffee shop serving cups of hot chocolate. Of course, home is where the heart is no matter what day it is or how special an event is, but what if home during a special holiday is somewhere out there in the world?

June is a month known to be one of the months where the weather is at its optimum blaring state for thirty consecutive days, despite the fact that there are several days with slight rain. Every day, people wish to spend their days outside under the same. Still, some would rather stay inside where the air conditioner accompanies them. Summer, however, is when things get fun and sparkling. Most of the time, tourist spots hold deluxe and limited summer events. Delving into one of the famous tourist destinations, Singapore, Universal Studios Singapore would have some kind of water games and entertainment, where water shows would occur.

December, on the other hand, is when people travel around to witness a chilly atmosphere, but in this month, the scenery becomes delightful. In December in Tokyo, beautiful lights will be wrapped around the streetlamps on the side of the streets, and the exteriors of designer brands will be decorated expensively. It’s the only time of the year when people who ski and snowboard can truly ski while enjoying the snowy scenery.

However, every holiday is unquestionably unique in its own way. Halloween is often celebrated too, although workers and students aren’t given a break. New Year's in Asia is celebrated in gold and red colors, and even restaurants would hold small events to commemorate it.
